The lovely Emily over at Ember Grey began her 12 Months of Bliss challenge last month, asking friends and readers to join her in sending (at least) one piece of snail mail per week in June. Not texts or emails, but actual mail! I, being someone who absolutely loves a good old-fashioned card or letter (who in the world doesn’t?!), thought this was a great little way to show friends I care.
12 Months of Bliss was designed to “encourage self-reflection and loving yourself better, as well as random acts of kindness and thoughtfulness towards others.” It’s no secret that I’m a big fan of acts of kindness, so I knew I wanted to jump right in!
I decided to write a few friends I haven’t chatted with in a while, as well as sending thank-you notes to those who joined my #KindnessForEddie challenge in the winter (Oops…little late with those!). I’ve been meaning to write those people for months now, and this was the perfect reminder! The joy in note-writing is something I learned from my mother and both grandmothers. Taking the time to sit down and pen a few warm-hearted words to others always puts me in a good mood, and I hope it brings a smile to the face of the receiver as well!
Looking forward to the July challenge!
