SMP ~ Monthly Three

Happy August! Where has the summer gone? As much as I love these hot, hot months, I am a fall girl and I relish the first cool breeze I feel. That’s right – I relish, y’all.

1 – School Supplies :: It’s back-to-school time and Target is full of goodies. I’ve figured out how to scour the school supplies aisles for my own purchases, yet not feel strange because I’m a “grown-up” (notice the quotations)…I claim that they’re for my office. Totally works! I love buying notebooks and pens and folders and Trapper Keepers (ok, not really) and pretty much anything I think I could use at some point. I love being organized and these items help me do it – and make me happy! The quote from ‘You’ve Got Mail’ has always been one of my favorites:

“Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.” – Joe Fox

Who wouldn’t love a bouquet of newly sharpened pencils?!

2 – I Wish You Were Here Project :: An English woman named Marianne Houghton was diagnosed with terminal lung cancer a few years ago, and her daughter has created this site to provide something from around the world that her mom loves: postcards. They encourage you to send Marianne a simple postcard including three things that you love to do. This is on my to-do list, for sure. What a special mission.

3 – My fall special! :: Last year, I offered something unique: daddy-daughter sessions. I really, really enjoyed every minute of these! I photographed four pairs,  and while they each had their own vibe, they shared one thing in common: having fun together! I’ve been anxious to do more, and I will start offering them again VERY soon. Not only will I offer daddy-daughter sessions, but moms and sons will have their chance to sign up, too!

I will be announcing the details in a week or so, but these are first-come, first-serve. If you want a spot, be sure to sign up to be part of my newsletter crew – they hear everything first! Until then, here are last year’s links:

Can’t wait to meet more of these pairs soon. Enjoy our last summer month!
