Pinterest. This is, by far, the best internet discovery I’ve had in 2011. You may not know what it is, or how it works….don’t worry, I’m here to fill you in!
Pinterest is basically a place for you to collect photos of things you like. You can make as many “Pinboards” as you want, of any category you want. Find a pin (photo) you like, click “Repin” onto the appropriate board, and wah-la! Inspiration, saved on a board! It also links up with Facebook, so you can easily follow your friends on there to see what they find to be creative.
They have pins for everything: Recipes. Home furnishings. D-i-y projects (I have a lot of work to do!). Quotes. Exercise tips (even more work to do…). Color Palettes. Travel destinations. What’s also neat is that you can click on any “pin”, and go straight to the source to get details on how to make/bake/find it.
If you’re a photographer, there is a wealth of inspiration for poses, technical info, packaging ideas, themed shoots, etc. I love becoming a new fan of others’ work, almost daily!
You may be asking, “Well, why should I get on there?” Because it’s so gosh darn pretty, and it’s fun to browse through everything. Below are a few of my favorite pins….enjoy, and be sure to find me: Simply M/Molly Denson.
